The city of Encinitas still doesn't have a 4th of July fireworks display

Encinitas has been a city since 1986, and still no official fireworks display for the 4th of July. Dear city leaders, you spend a lot of money on pet projects and always speak of how Encinitas is a family friendly city. Get it together and organize a fireworks barge off Moonlight Beach for this year.

Capri Elementary to become Dual Language only?

There is a flyer swirling around announcing a town hall meeting at Capri Elementary school, located in deepest, darkest Leucadia, claiming that Capri is going to become a "dual language" school and all the English only speaking kids (white) will be relocated to Paul Ecke Elementary.
Meeting is Tuesday, March 13 at 6:30 pm at Capri.
