Angela Lau, thanks for writing this story. The Keep Leucadia Funky stickers have been around for years but the RDA and "blighted" mess gave the KLF renewed popularity. Now it is trendy to have one. I saw one on a Lexus the other day.
We saw some Encinitas staff members, in white city vehicles, tearing down blight posters by Fleener, on the way to Stonesteps. Someone also ripped ours off, that we had earlier stapled to our front fence.
Just goes to show, power corrupts. We all hope State Legislature passes proposed statewide anti eminent domain ordiances, preventing government taking for all private development. Even our city development is in fact private development, because it is almost all contracted out to subs. All of the building inspectors work for private firm, Esgil.

ReplyDeleteDid KLF jump the shark already? Sheesh. I didn't even have a chance to airbrush it on my new longboard.
