  2. they also had plenty of fireworks

congrats to the folks that pulled off the beacons show, it was awesome!

the sheriff showed up 3/4 of the way through, sat and watched, then half heartedly shined his flashlight down on the beach.

its hard to enforce laws that bring people joy

  3. So... how do we secede from the Encinitas "Union"??? What are the exact boundaries of Leucadia? Anyone?

  5. Leucadia's borders have changed over time. Prior to incorporation, they extended north to halfway across the lagoon. Ask anyone just HOW Carlsbad claimed our property right up to our bluffs at that time and you won't get an answer. Like a riddle wrapped up in an enigma.
Leucadia's Greek and Roman street names attest to her territorial preexistence as do the earliest maps. Neptune still goes nearly to Moonlight Beach, Saxony to Encinitas Blvd (which used to be San Marcos Blvd); and Vulcan Ave goes all the way through old Encinitas to Santa Fe Drive in Cardiff. But recent maps show the south boundary at Union St and north at the lagoon's southern edge. Neato. I'm not worried about the Ecke Sphere, but just how far West into the drink does Leucadia go?

  6. Found new map via the Encinitas City Council Agenda for this Wed, the 14th. Hope this link works. It's part of the Community Vision Report. Very Interesting. http://archive.ci.encinitas.ca.us/weblink8/0/doc/661420/Page1.aspx
