Ruthless Hippies and Leucadia 101 Main Street Association have been hosting a monthly 'After Hours Session' at the Encinitas Library featuring the best of San Diego's jazz, folk, blues and rock [full disclosure: I am on the L101 board and operate Ruthless Hippies].
Friday December 13th will feature Encinitas jazz phenoms Mattson 2 and fine local folkies, Second Cousins. For more info and reduced priced tickets, follow the link. SPY Optic and Aztec Brewery are sponsoring. The show is all ages but there will be Aztec beer for those 21 +.
The last show featured Boaz Trio and Joshua White Trio (pictured above) and was attended by over 60 happy jazz heads.
January will feature San Diego jazz legend Daniel Jackson, playing a solo piano concert.

And while we're on the topic of jazz, I should let you all know that Joe Garrison and the Night people are playing at the Seaside Spiritual Center this Friday night. It's a 15 + jazz orchestra composed of some of San Diego's finest players. Info here!
