Leucadia Farmers Market Sundays

Before settling in to watch the scrappy but injured San Diego Chargers get destroyed by the undefeated New England Patriots take a trip to the Leucadia Farmers Market.

The Leucadia Farmer's Market is certified organic.

Fancy pancakes made on the spot!

Check out the kid built mosaic murals at the school.

Right across the street from this soulful little trailer park.

When: Every Sunday from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Where: Near the beach on the interior grounds of Paul Ecke Elementary School,
Sponsored by: a partnership between the Paul Ecke Centeral PTA and the Leucadia 101 Mainstreet Association.

Why go organic?

  1. I love the video and the 'soulful' park photo.

Don’t you find it odd that people will put more work into choosing their mechanic or house contractor than they will into choosing the person who grows their food?

  2. JP.

It is a good thing that you are noting the Leucadia Farmers Market. Great photo journalism too.

Aside from the great local produce, flowers, specialty foods, art and crafts, music and such, it is a nice park-like atmosphere. Kids can play on the on swings or play on the huge grass field. You can eat at the tables and enjoy the music and the local scene.
The tile work is done completely by the students. Very cool.
Ron LaChance is the market manager. He has done an excellent job not without challenges, cheerfully . Like the time he came to open the market during the fires and horses were on the grounds and new locks on the gates or surprise school construction. He had the market open for us on time. He managed it well. The market has sponsored blood drives, e waste recycling, business fairs, health fairs and more. There will be a new e recycling drive in the fall. Pass the word. The more we support our market the better it can be.
If you would like a space to share your art or locally made or grown products at the market, contact him at the market. Thank you Ron.
The proceeds of the market helps fund Paul Ecke PTA programs that would otherwise be unfunded and supports L101 Mainstreet Association’s efforts on behalf of our community. A good partnership.

Support our market and local businesses.

On behalf of the Paul Ecke PTA and Leucadia 101 Mainstreet Association and Ron La Chance,
    thank you for your support.

  4. I love the farmers market, it's also great to support local growers.

My dad is a very stubborn person, and it's no small task that I got him to switch to buying every weekend from the farmers market.

They also have great items besides produce.

  5. ..."Search your peelings!"

This is the funniest thing I've seen thus far this year. Thanks JP!!

  6. This market is too large for a venue in the midst of a residential neighborhood. Its time to move.
