Old School, Authentic Chill

A contemporary investment in our hometown. A monument to the belief in our town's future.

  1. I am a little disappointed that my house didn't make the cut. With the blue tarp on the roof and the mailbox laying on its side after someone ran it over, it has that "funk" that is real Leucadia.

  2. I live around the corner from the last house. I found an old illustrated dictionary that belonged to my kids when they were in early elementary school. And what do you know.... there was a picture of the last house right next to the word UGLY.

  5. No W. C.. That's the Heaven House where there is no dirt or dogs, but the white carpet will be replaced every year anyway. The ocean view was obviously patched in with photoshop by someone in a helicopter for the short sale. We're waiting for Wal Mart's 300 ft telescopic video camera pole so anyone can have an ocean view for just $39.95.

  6. Besides, the Monsanto House "Home of the Future" was razed through eminent domain making way for their real vision of the future - which of course was: How can we make room for just the rich visiting the happiest place on earth? I know! Let's raise the admission price from five to a hundred bucks!

  7. I had never heard of the Monsanto house, but googled it and found this old Disneyland attraction, which looks a lot like the house on Sunset.

  8. Fred,

True dat. You know there was a time when working class dads could afford to take their kids to baseball games? Even several games a year!!!

  9. Then you're younger than me. The House of Monsanto had the first television phones where you could see the person you were talking to in full color! That was cool. But if you're going to put most or a house's surface area against the elements with mega windows, it might look fancy but it's not going to be very energy efficient. A short sighted vision by Monsanto. Not unlike their GMO Frankenstein monster.

  10. I love all the Diversity.... what I hate is all those zero Architectural efforts that puts forward the boring typical Post New England style home so prevalent throughout Encinitas Ranch and even lately up on Hymettus. Those are puke boring. Just look at the super high density bonus the developers are slamming in around town. We better get our City Hall joining other Cities to repeal or replace that state law. It sucks.
