2007 in Leucadia reminds me of Iraq. Thousands murdered for the pure motive of more profit.
I sure hope we can elect a council in 2008 who cares alittle more about trees and a little less about building trophy projects that they can attach their name in a plaque.
Be afraid, very afraid. The three men on the council approved new ordinances that makes it easier to arrest and jail anyone who doesn't comply with a direction by any chair of a board, commission, committee for the purpose of maintaining order. Don't talk back to them. Bow you head, don't look them in the eye. Whatever you do, don't make them angry.
Some people like Dr. Lorri and Lynn and Russel need to be afraid. The rest of us can look them in the eye. They seem to know things that we mortals don't. Perhaps we can water board them.
This DOES NOT look like Iraq. Go over there before even making a comment like that. We don't have human, animal, or plant life completely dead, never to awake again. Our City Council has only as much power as we citizens give them. Vote them out next year. However, make sure that what they say is what they do. If not, recall them. Until we do this, and get rid of Glenn Sabine, expect more trees to get cut down. After all, they want to keep up with Carlsbad who just approved the Ponto plan. As Alice once said, "follow the money". If you don't have it, follow those who do. I was also under the misunderstading that somehow Torrey Pines were "off limits" to cut down, as they only grow in this area. Could someone advise me on this, as I am obviously wrong on this particular issue. I am learning as quickly as I can, so pleae bear with me if my questions seem stupid to some of you. And PLEASE no water boarding. I am not up for it. Put me on a surfboard or boogeyboard instead.
Cut down every tree and bush that stands between me an oceanview. Trees aren't people they are trees. If you like them so much plant as many as you want on your property. Leave others people's property alone.
Maybe the city can buy the Brown property and turn it into a second torrey pines state park. That should satisfy two groups. The tree huggers in Leucadia and the NIMBY's in Cardiff. What a concept. We can just float another bond to make the Browns rich.
Don't give the CIty any ideas. They will buy the Brown property if we are not careful. If Bill R. doesn't want to participate then that tells me he is not that intersted in this City. Bob Bonde still does most of the work and speaking. So stop with Bill R. He just doesn't care.
i am currently growing 500 torreys in liner pots for the city for one of their trails, dont know which one but i planted a 100 or so extra to insure i had enuf. anyone who wants one of the extras can have them for the same price the city is paying. nothing. the city gets first crack at the block but there will be nice ones left for anyone who wants a few. city is taking there's in a couple weeks so anytime after that.
u can call or come by anytime after Dec. 1 to get or reserve one.
Thanks for the info on the Torreys Bob. I did not know that! Curious Cat-who is censoring your comments? J.P. or the NCTimes. I have made a couple of comments to the NCTimes that did not get put on their blog. The comment had to do with the ridiculous idea that Jerome Sotcks was an upstanding public citizen. I offered eveidence as to why this was not true. Never got printed on the blog about the smoking ordinance.
Jerome must bitch like a little spoiled San Ellijo Hells girl to the NTC to please remove posts saying anything that can be portrayed as negative. The funny thing is they listen. Many of my posts have appeared and then have been removed.
Thank god the days of the fat blow hard insurance salesman as a council member has past. Or has it?

ReplyDeleteI love In and Out Burger. That would make me so happy to have some actual type of fast food joint in the neighborhood.

Dr. Lorri, Torrey Pines are only protected in Del Mar, via a City ordinance.
ReplyDeletethey are censoring comments. Mine was from the other day
