Its not there now. I'd say the recent drainage improvements worked well. That area has historically flooded. Now the pumps clear the area in hours instead of days.
Nice... when do we get storms like that one today? Like once every 5 years?
The owner of this building and the one to the south deserve everything they are getting. When the buildings were constructed they excavated additional materials that dropped the elevation of the two below that of the park; therefore, guess where the water now accumulates.
If the city weren't so cheap and had installed proper drainage, this problem would not exist. Leucadia Park is the feeder location for drainage one mile in all directions. Poor little park, so abused.
So, do we still have the 3 (out of 6) new trees standing at the park? We should start a pool (no pun intended!) - I'd bet good money that at least one more of those trees will be gone by Friday. :/
How bad was it?
ReplyDeleteI hear Thursday is going to be the big storm. Potentially the worst in a decade.
isn't 4A going to take care of all the issues with the street?
ReplyDeleteNo,
ReplyDeleteIt will not take care of all the issues. It will make the flooding situation better and help solve some of the problems.
So it will improve on the flooding situation but not fix it entirely.
How long was the flood at the interestion?

I can't wait for Thursday's storm. Bring it
The drainage problem came up during the council meeting last week. It doesn't rain much but when it does it's the same old problems.

ReplyDeleteOne time I saw Gary Murphy punch the rain and then the clouds cleared up and the sun came out.
ReplyDeleteGary "Thor" Murphy
ReplyDeleteIf the city would do as Gary Murphy says to do, everything would be fine.
ReplyDeleteMurphy for city council.

Gary Murphy is scary. Did anyone see his spooky council presentation where he threatened the council.
ReplyDeleteHe is always sooo angry
