San Diego Water Authority Finds More Water!

Thank you for pledging to the take the 20-Gallon Challenge, our region's campaign to reduce water use on average by 20 gallons per person, per day. The challenge began in 2007 as a voluntary campaign to increase conservation. However, escalating water supply challenges in 2009 have resulted in a water shortage, and mandatory conservation for the San Diego region is now in effect. Contact your local water agency for details on water-use restrictions or special conservation-related water rates that may apply in your community. Keep encouraging others to take the pledge!

You can help the Water Authority and its member agencies achieve required regional water-use reduction and water-saving goals by sharing the 20-Gallon Challenge message with your family, friends, and co-workers. It's as easy as forwarding this email to a friend or visiting the "Take the Pledge" web page at 20gallonchallenge.com/mypledge.html and clicking on Email this Page to a Friend.

Meanwhile, back at City Hall...

  1. I put a bucket in the shower to collect the cold water that runs while I'm waiting for the hot water to come. I use it to water the garden.

I'd like to put in a graywater system, but The Man won't let me.

It would be nice if the shocking rate increases our Council and Water District keep raping us with went to conservation instead of to overpaid municipal employee salaries and benefits.

  3. w.c.,

    The earth has a fever.

Don't take warm showers! Heating water is one of the most energy intensive things you do during a normal day's activities.

    Go green! Go cold showers!

  4. what double talk. That guy sounds so stupidApril 01, 2010 7:50 AM

What that means is; to accommodate more people and more pollution, more traffic, more crowds at beaches, state parks and everywhere, to wipe out every bit of open space in CA, the politicians will tow the developers line and propose build CA like all of LA.

This guy speaking doesn't know shit.

We live in a desert. 15 years ago, Barry Goldwater admitted in Cadillac Desert, the SouthWest is overbuilt for our water supply.

If an ultra conservative can say this, you know its true.

Don't beleive this double talk for developers profit.

Remember there are two special interest that our City Council Love- Developers and Employee Unions. Both are bad for the future of Encinitas.

You want to know where the heads of development corporations and Unions live? Rancho Sante Fe and other affluent areas with low density land use zoning.

Let the dumbasses in Oceanside and other less intelligent populations act on this bullshit.

Don't let them turn Encinitas into LA. Help the future health of your earth, beaches, roads, parks, animals, and quality of life. Push against any increase in Density in LA.

Vote against all incumbents after their second terms.

  5. VOTE INCUMBANTS OUT NOW, NOT AFTER THEIR SECOND TERM.

YOU EITHER DO IT NOW OR FORGET IT!

ONCE THERE IN OFFICE FOR 2 TERMS, YOU'LL NEVER GET THEM OUT.

  7. 750,

Current government policy is that there is plenty of water for 1 million more folks in S.D.

  10. Dipshit says what?April 01, 2010 11:41 AM

Dipshit 11:17- Please explain how we are in pretty good shape. Are you receiving a government pension now or in the future?

  11. OH YEA
    YOU ARE A POOPIEHEAD

  12. 10:21- Whats your point?

The government policy is wrong. Otherwise why are they asking all of us to use less water while they hike the price up 50%?

I know the answer, to pay for the fat union pensions and make the area return to tumble weeds and dust, just like the NCTD railroads but with millions more people.

    Sounds great!
