Vantage Point

For a good time have lunch on the Kotija patio and watch the chaos
that is the 101/Leucadia Blvd intersection.

  1. 1 word: Catmeat.

The tacos at Cotija are made with it.

  2. If thats true, I love catmeat. I think I will start eating it instead of Cow meat from now on.

    Thanks.

that intersection is the ugliest, longest waite, and most unsafe intersection in all of north county.

It need to be made to a perminant all way stop. When it is in the all stop mode, it performs much better. The City needs to keep it that way.

  3. Cats are yummy is right even if his spelling is a bit off. Since I got a jaywalking ticket (Thanks Sheriff Garcia), I have been waiting for the White Man on the sign. That intersection takes forever. Then you get stuck again across the tracks because you can never make it across both streets on the same light.

Oh, it sucks in a car too.

  4. That intersection in the heart of downtown Leucadia remains a problem in need of a clever solution. Folks in my neighborhood don't drive the 101 or vulcan and cut through neighbors just to be sure to avoid that intersection.

  5. Lower the tracks and put in a roundabout. Problem solved.

    One word. A-hole.

  7. its true that the food is cat meat and that the intersection is like waiting for a wave on a shortboard at beacons. but it like it that way, it just shows all the non-luecadians that we dont want to change and become more populated. we like our town as is

  8. Thy don't use cat, they use perro.
And did they get a permit for the big sign advertising 'MEXICAN FOOD' that's on their canvas roof?

  9. Oh that Fred, cuts right to the heart of the problem and is, of course, correct. Lower the tracks and put in a roundabout.

  10. "That intersection in the heart of downtown Leucadia remains a problem in need of a clever solution."

The solution is easy, all way stop at Vulcan and Hwy101/Leucadia intersections. It works ten times better and pedestrians and bikes do not get penalized!

  11. I am for a roundabout if, instead of a Yield sign you put up a "Do Not Stop" sign. Hopefully that would help people understand they way they work.

  12. Can we get a roundabout for the train?

  13. Bart- You and others need to learn the meaning of yield. Once in a while, you need to stop at a roundabout if there is a car to your left. Otherwise its clear sailing at 20mph minimum!

  14. My husband and I hate that intersection!! The lights are way too long. It is like 6 different lights. Insane!

  15. Yep, not only a super long waiting time (when the lights aren't flashing), but periodically when the two westbound left turn lanes complete, some Bozo will drift from the left lane into the slow southbound 101 lane, oblivious to whoever is on his right. That goes for Bozo babes too, but usually people are paying attention to them when they drive.

  16. I never use that intersection, I use Vulcan, or Hygeia, Hymettus or Orpheus. Sorry folks, I hate to cut through your neighborhoods, but I hat that intersection worse. That intersection sucks!!!

  17. BTW, flashing red lights at intersections usually mean stop and proceed with caution. Not at Leucadia Blvd / 101. I was eastbound to cross the intersection the other night and all the red lights were flashing - I assumed. Wrong. The lights for north/south 101 stay green! Who came up with that brainstorm? So when you're going east at that intersection and the lights are flashing red, DO NOT enter the intersection to complete your left turn to travel north on 101.

  18. "I never use that intersection, I use Vulcan, or Hygeia, Hymettus or Orpheus."

If you use Vulcan, or Hygeia, Hymettus or Orpheus to get to your destinations, utilizing the Leucadia/101 intersection would be taking the longest route. Sounds like you just want to create fear of cut-through traffic here for those who can't think things through. You probably hate the single lane idea for the Highway as well.

  19. Meathead- I love the proposed single lane. I avoid the intersection because it sucks..... I wish it worked better so I would not have to cut through all my neighborhoods streets.

Your comments continue to expose you as stupid.

Thanks for the kudos, but I can do without "cut" and "heart" in the same sentence.
