By a two to one margin, San Diego County voters decided to limit their candidate choices. Maybe that had something to do with rarely having any choice other than the incumbents?
It's sad that this proposition was only brought before voters because the union bosses could not get pay/benefit/retirement/free medical for life raises through the existing supervisors. They will wait it out for eight more years and then get their shills elected so they can rape the taxpayers. The only good to come from term limits has been to get rid of Willie Horton. Gray Davis and Arnold have to be the worst two governors we have ever had. California is bankrupt because of them and the legislature spending our hard earned tax dollars on public employees wages and benefits.
Spread the news. The reason there is not money for your kids education and for parks is because politicians like Dan Dalager voted for their own 40% increase in pension payments forever no wonder we are broke. Just a sampling of Encinitas payments include:

With Kerry Miller as city manager, the Council approved increased pay for many job descriptions that were part of a city study. That also helped boost the final pension amount.
When city or state employees (you can't call them workers as that would be an insult to working people) retire we are on the hook for their salaries and free medical for them and their families for life. Kids to 27 years. Then they have to go and hire someone to replace their position. They don't pay anything into their retirement but get full salary or higher after 30 years. This can't go on or we will be bankrupt soon. Maybe that would be good.
Please excuse the interruption. I know that the prevailing attitude to Cardiff's current plight with a general plan amendment to allow 90 foot lights is that there is no money or wait for the election or it won't effect me. THIS IS A GENERAL PLAN AMMENDMENT FOR THE ENTIRE CITY, NOT JUST CARDIFF. LIGHTS AND CELL TOWERS ALLOWED AS HIGH AS NINTY FEET HIGH IN THE ENTIRE CITY? EVEN OLIVENHAIN.

That is the point. He is trying to get this done quickly, before the elections. He will be a lot stronger if he gets his lights. He will get a lot more votes. In turn, he will get less votes if he does not prevail. That is why the WOS are backing this.
...term limits for Encinitas is a positive. It will only happen with an initiative. I would like one four year term. That would eliminate a retirement for the council members.

ReplyDeleteTerm limits are good and we need them in Encinitas. There are plenty of capable Citizens to easily fill good council members.
ReplyDeleteThe citizens are finally starting to wake up. I hope its not too late.
Vote out Dalager, he must hate your kids and their future.

Olivenhain? That would never happen.
ReplyDeleteJames Bonds ghost lives out there.
If you want to kill the lights, kill off the election chances of Dalager in November. Its that simple.

What the hell are you saying? Most Encinitas residents want tall lights?
ReplyDeleteIf so, put in tall lights.
I don't think so. Use this as an issue where Dalager is clueless. Carlsbad residents want tall lights in cardiff, not encinitas residents.
Support other candidates and get Dalager out.
If you think most encinitas residents want tall lights, then your done. Put your house up for sale.
Your plight, doesn't mean that all people agree with you.
I for one, think the lights are stupid and unwanted.
get busy on voting out Dalager.
