That part of the HWY in Del Mar is brutal during the summer. Not a big fan of the one lane idea. I am all for round abouts because they are funky and work better than stop signs. I have never seen a four lane round about though. KLF!
I'm glad I got to live in Encinitas for 55 years without roundabouts. They suck and always will. I put up with them on Leu Blvd and Santa Fe but will despise them on 1o1. Only transplants and the mentally ill like them. They will ruin 1o1 from one end to the other. Please start at the north end at La Costa and go south. The first phase of the Streetscape is in Encinitas, not Leucadia FYI. The second and later phases will never be built as we have been waiting years for the second phase downtown.

Area Man, I didn't like roudies at first either, but if you're going to slow traffic, what is a better solution? Stop signs and lights will not be much better as the traffic will back up to Ponto and Encinitas blvd if you put more of those in. The one draw back of roundies is that people on the west side streets will have a tough time getting out into traffic but than again, it is not very fun now at times. I must be mentally ill as I am no transplant.
