Tree Tunnels Along the California Coast

Ventura keeps their coastal route shady, with lines of eucalyptus.
A strip of Morro Bay's eucalyptus trees are 98 years old. The locals consider the trees an important landmark.

The City of Burlingame made their 100 year old El Camino Real tree tunnel part of their official planning documents.
The trees are widely accepted as an important asset of the city.

They grow even if you don't plant them, like the 8' one that was doing beautifully in front of the Post Office that they just fell. Typical zeroscape agenda unique to Leucadia. At this rate we'll look like Sun City when the height of global warming arrives.

And relax Newer. That's just Jru. But it is nice to see some cities / towns take pride in their mega trees. If only the driving force here wasn not to plant midget trees on 101. They look great from a birds eye view on paper, but will the reach across the Hwy? Hope so. The pines that radical group People for Tress planted in 1992 are really starting to impress me with their size - and they have a long way to grow. I get the feeling that bothers some people. 4. It is open season to destroy eucalyptus EVERYWHERE in Encinitas.

  5. If you plant them, they will die.

Look at the drought tolerant plants planted about the Leucadia entry surfboard. All gone. Nothing can survive in this desert without water except tumbleweed and scrub brush.

If you plant and water them, they will grow.

Plan on watering with recycled water.
