Dangerous Streets of Leucadia

Why doesn't this street need infrastructure sprucing for aesthetics and safety as much as the 101?

  1. I saw a guy from the city on Jason & Vulcan measuring traffic so I think they're plotting something.

As a resident along that stretch, I would rather they just leave it alone. Have the courage to do nothing.

You'll be lynched if you cross to the other side of the tracks.

  6. LEUCADIA IS BEAUTIFUL! NEVER CHANGE IT!

Look how bad Leucadia Blvd looks! Vulcan looks 10000x better.

  8. Why spend money on roads when we can give city employees full retirement at 55 instead?

  9. San Elijo has the same issues. I would like to see the whole corridor re-thought and improved with bike lanes and walking paths. Doesn't need to be fancy, (cross walks, dirt paths, a little widening for dedicated bike lane, etc.). What we currently have is a real missed opportunity.

  11. WC has it down. We do have any money for any projects to improve the looks, safety, or functionally of Encinitas. All the tax money goes to the huge pensions approved by Dan Dalager. Why isn't this a huge headline in the papers by now?

I was at the meeting where Bob said that...(tear in my beer moment)...

  13. Wherever do you think Bob GOT his wild-ass notions? You don't think he dreamed all that up BY HIMSELF?

    :-)

The bulk of Leucadias problems get solved when the train is segregated from the population. Except at designated stops...

  14. Less is more when it comes to development of Leucadia. Just fix the water drainage, if you really want to spend some money, replant the 101 canopy. Leave vulcan alone, dirt parking is great, no need to sugar coat everything. Also fix cross streets coming out onto Vulcan where you can't see oncoming traffic because of parked cars. Just paint some red on curbs around cross streets so that you can see oncoming cars when coming onto Vulcan, just for safety. Place is great as is. Make walkways across the tracks so we can get to the surf.

  16. 4:39-

    No. Vulcan is a dumpo......

Thats why streets away from vulcan don't look like vulcan.....

every other street in Leucadia looks sweet.....except Hwy101 and Vulcan.

They are dumps. The reason is cut through traffic. Solve the cut through traffic and they will not be dumps either.
