Whole Foods sells toxic food, sunflower seeds from China under 365 brand, local strawberries full of fungicides and chemicals, local will kill you too. Wake up people.
I like Leucadia better. You can cross the tracks where ever you want. You don't need to climb some stairs or scale some ridiculous back-and-forth bridge.
When I see that bridge in Solana beach I think to myself, "damn you fools spent a half zillion dollars on that thing then you stuck some ugly stucco track houses right next to it?"
I like how in leucadia when you cross the tracks you get the added thrill of trying to avoid the rent-a-cop in the white truck. I like how when he spots you he drives towards you. Most of the time you can outwalk him by just scurrying on across the 101 (or vulcan).
I like how even if he does catch you, all he does is blab for a few minutes (he's bored). Note, it's important to listen and be nice while he's lecturing you. Only interupt him when you see other people cross the tracks (about once every 60 seconds).
A half-zillion dollar bridge or a half-zillion dollar tunnel - which do you prefer? I wish NCTD would just build some simple, inexpensive at-grade pedestrian crossings. Or better yet, let people cross the tracks using their own minds. It is safer than crossing 4 lanes of automobile traffic!
It's an exhibition, not a competition.

ReplyDeleteIndeed it is, but they'll never bury the tracks in Encinitas, right?

ReplyDeletemuch safer than crossing that decrepit freeway!
ReplyDeleteThe law against crossing the tracks has nothing to do with safety.
ReplyDeleteIt's probably not safe to drive on the highway while sending text messages to my posseƩ (yo whatsup!) but I still do it.
ReplyDeleteJust do what I do and duct tape your phone to the horn. You don't need thumbs to drive anyway. Oh yeah, I forgot about your eyes. Nevermind.
ReplyDeleteIf you look closely in the top photo that is the Ringling Bros circus train. That is something you wouldn't see if the tracks were buried.
