Fundraiser party for 2 year old Avery Hanel, granddaughter of our local surfboard shaper and retired math teacher, Gary Hanel.
Avery has been battling a rare form of Leukemia. Currently undergoing stem cell treatment with promising results.
Avery's parents, Peter and Alexandra Hanel, have not been able to work due to Avery's month long stays in ICU at Rady's Children Hospital in San Diego.
I grew up across the street from the Hanels in deepest, darkest Leucadia.
The community has rallied around the Hanels and have been generously supporting them during these difficult times.

What: Live music all day (including GH's band H2Old) food, drink specials, lots of raffle prizes, silent auction, kid's art corner and face painting, out door grill.
All donations and proceeds go to the Avery "the brave" Hanel Fund.
