You know it's one group of yahoo dudes, they might even be a crew of roommates living in the neighborhood.
They probably hang out at Union regularly and then noisily make their way to north, puking and peeing and leaving the scent of Axxe body spray the whole way.
All we need to do is eliminate this one group of idiots and everything goes back to normal.
Probably.....
ReplyDeleteThe problems with the noisy, out of control drunks after the bars close seems to be more of a problem with the leadership of the local sheriff's management and, a lack of City oversight of the Sheriff's contract. There is a reported strong personal and former professional relationship between severl Council members but that is for another thread.
ReplyDeleteThe laws regulating and removing those who are engaged in such misconduct are already on the books. The sheriff's Watch Commander simply needs to enforce the 'quality of life' statutes in the community which apparently has not been done in a satisfactory manner in the opinion of some (many?) local residents who are affected by the borish behavior of a few.
The Mayor of NYC tackled the local crimes effecting the quality of life several decades ago and NYC continues to enjoy a robust, mostly safe night life in the local tourist's communities. Get the Sheriff to put pressure on his watch commanders and provide the leadership to the deputies in the field and the drunken miscreanst will move on the the next community.
Carlsbad police live in their community. They are one of the more aggressive law enforcement agencies and such boring behavior is not tolerated. Perhaps, if contracted deputies lived in the Cardiff, Encinitas, Leucadia communities the need for better Sheriff department management would resolve itself by local deputies.
Think about it. The bars can remain open, the tax revenues continue Local citizens working the industry from wait persons to bartenders, cooks, etc., can still make a living wage
over 60% of the City's revenue comes from property tax.
ReplyDeleteLess than 5% comes from liquor sales. I care more about quality of life issues then the amount of tips bartenders and waitresses make.
Please- those jobs are cake. If the people don't like what they are making, go do something else like become a nurse or a scientist.
The Sheriff deputies need to get out of their cars and do foot and bicycle patrols downtown on Friday and Saturday nights. Their physical presence amongst the crowds would temper the bravado.
ReplyDeleteDid the mad scientist clone Justin Bieber? Collective stupid.
ReplyDeleteLove this picture, hilarious
