3rd Annual Summer Fun on the 101 - June 29th & 30th

Summer Fun on the 101: The popular Leucadia music festival is back for the third year in a row.
This collaboration between the Leucadia 101 Main Street Association and Ruthless Hippies promotions showcases some of San Diego counties best surf bands and other musical flavors.
Admission to all performances is free and open to all ages. A suggested donation of $10 to help support the Paul Ecke Elemantary School is always appreciated (and can be accomplished by enjoying a beer at the Firestone Beer Garden or purchasing a raffle ticket for all kinds of groovy prizes like a surfboard from Surfy Surfy Surf Shop).

"The grand jury cited an engineering report that overhauling the drain system could cost as much as $42 million. The city's annual is of less than $60 million. Individual projects would range from $1 million to about $4.5 million, according to the report."

Is flooding a problem in Leucadia? Yes.

Will it take $42 million to fix? No.

OPENING RECEPTION: Thursday May 10, 6-8 PM

Scott Saw will be displaying recent scenic photographs for the next two months at Utopia Style Lounge in Encinitas. The photos on display are all local to the North County San Diego area. Scott is attracted to the dramatic colors provided by evening light. Using HDR techniques he captures images that can’t be made with a single exposure. The resulting photographs are rich in color, mood and beauty. The Encinitas coast has always been home to Scott. He grew up surfing its waves and now enjoys it more often through the lens of his camera. His photographs, however, are not your typical sunsets at the beach. Scott seeks out cloudy, stormy skies and uniquely captures moments where the light and the darkness transcend the conventional beauty of the coast.

Please join Scott and his family for a cocktail reception at Utopia Style lounge, Thursday, May 10 from 6-8 PM. A variety of photographic prints will be available for purchase at the event and at the salon through June 31st. A percentage of all proceeds will benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. All American Barbershop is hidden behind Wendy's by the Shell gas station, you know, right above Cotton Wood Creek park on Encinitas Blvd.

It's a great old school style barber shop run by younger guys with throwback attitudes.

A nice counter balance to the many fine but foo foo hair salons in this town for the dude who just needs to look sharp at an affordable price.
