Marsha Lindsey, a board member of the 101 Artists' Colony, has put out word on the Internet about the procession, which will leave Swami's beach around 3 p.m. The group will walk mostly alongside South Coast Highway 101 before stopping at Stone Step's beach.

Lindsey said hoop dancers and other performance artists would be part of the mix. Participants can express themselves however they choose, she said.

"Drums would be welcome," Lindsey said Monday. "Positive energy, flags, signs, whatever. Anything festive. Anything that shows you're happy."

4:00 p.m local: Goal Setting - Encinitas City Hall

*Many locals have expressed that they are upset that Goal Setting is on Inauguration Day.

*Our congressman Republican Brian Bilbray is not attending Obama's historic inauguration because he says it will be too cold. "It's just too cold for a California kid. The only time I get that cold is when I surf in January."
Bilbray hasn't surfed in years and it was 84 degrees today. MEH.

  1. the USA public is the dumbest on the planet. The public continually elects losers that bankrupt our government and give our children little hope.

I can predict one think. The young generation will not be very supportive or respectful to the carpetbagger babyboomer generation like Bilbray. All talk, no show, and too boot they borrowed money and got the country in debt like no tomorrow.

Thanks for the crappy conditions you left us, losers! Don't expect any respect from us. Do us all a favor and off yourself, so we don't need to pay your social security and health care costs. Believe me, you will not be missed.

  2. I am just glad that they put the meeting video on the web based City archives.

The videos are great for those of us working to pay our taxes during the day and still like to stay informed about our City happenings.

Great job City. Transparency is good.

  3. The swearing-in of the President of the United States occurs upon the commencement of a new term of a President of the United States. The United States Constitution mandates that the President make the following oath or affirmation before he or she can "enter on the Execution" of the office of the presidency:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

The newly elected or re-elected President traditionally adds "so help me God" to the constitutionally mandated statement.

So every president that has served in my life (1931) is a liar.

    Pathetic.

The future does not look to bright for the USA.

  5. Liberalism is a mental disease. This is caught by going to schools in California and elsewhere. Those with it seem to congregate in Leucadia and Encinitas. (also San Fransicko) Most don't work and produce nothing for society's benefit. But they can dance on the beach, drag rakes in the sand, walk on ropes at Swami's between the trees and go to one of a hundred yoga studios or E-street crappy cafe. What a bunch of weirdos.

  6. Right wingy whining is passe. Stay in you home with the shutters drawn living in fear and hate. Leave paranoid rantings on the internet for the next 4 years and buy lots and lots of guns. Have fun douchebags, the rest of us are going to the beach.

I love a free government ride.

    Communism is great!

  8. Communism? That is silly. You are just another drama queen. We just sat through 8 years of your fascism branded as "freedom fries" so suck it up big boy.

  9. When the USA owns a big stake in the banks and insurance companies and soon every property in the red, it is close to communism.

Obama is just like bush and will just spend, spend, spend.....

Meaning no balanced budget, spending our kids future, printing more money and devaluing the dollar, and your savings....

    Oh sure, I have hope....

I hope you all can feed your families since you've been getting so used to %5 lattes for every member of the family every day.

I look forward to the de-leveraging period before the big spike in inflation.

it makes for more peaceful times as people are scrambling around like rats trying to feed their families.

Yeah... its time for the glory day. Hail Obama...

    No work for anyone anymore!!!!

What a great country….. prosperty for all without working. This is great!!!

  10. Wow, there sure are some bitter, cynical complainers around here.

I see good in human nature. I am disappointed with our City government, but that will not stop me from celebrating the optimism and change that is happening "higher up."

Be miserable, if that makes you happy, lol!

    Yeah Obama!
