Morning Gossip

Can anyone confirm or deny this early report about last night?

Dan and Maggie voted to give themselves 10% raises.

Maggie is posturing to give the city manager a big raise but is looking for some peer pressure. Maggie thinks a quarter million dollars is the right salary for the city manager, if all the other cities are paying that sort of compensation.

A quarter of a million $$ is WAY to much for a man that sits at a desk all day and does little to nothing.

I propose JP for city manager, I'm sure he would enjoy a pay raise and free health benefits for life. Not to mention a city car and free electricity and A/C in the summer and heat in the winter. Never having to pay for expenses like paper , pens, coffee, staff.

Did I leave anything out??? Oh yeah every other Friday off from work. Sheez what a cushy job, where can I go to suck at the govt TIT!!!

    Taxpayers revolt!!

  4. Usually in the real world, you have to justify a raise by showing extraordinary performance. Apparently in Encinitas the only criteria for a raise of 10% during an unprecedented global economic downturn and Califonia on the verge of BK is that the City Manager is still breathing. If he is doing such a good job, why is the City raising water rates to pay for its expenditures? Isn't this like giving bailout money to banks, who then pay their executives bonuses based on demonstrated stupidity.
