Poinsettia Time!

  1. Note to Paul III and all Ecke Trust Funders..... From Grandpa's perspective, Flowers are much better than massive developments, and increased zoning throughout Encinitas.

PS- Hopefully our new Council person gets the message.

  2. Anon-9:28, how do you pay for a staff that is over paid and overpensioned?? It ain't with flowers and empty fields.

    Get real or get lost.
You voted for BIG govt, now you must accept the costs of your foolishness.

  3. Anon 10:15am-

Your clueless. I didn't vote for big government.

I support more flowers, less houses, less government jobs and less pensions.

Great you support blah, blah,blah... Then you will support more bidness for Encinitas. Did you know the city latest con is to charge new bidness owners "Traffic mitigation fees" of tens of thousands of dollars ??

Flowers are great. How many have you plants during your gorilla gardening outings??

As for housing, I'm all for it. Unless you lead by example and tear down your house and live in a flower field....YOU ARE CLUELESS!!

BTW it is- You're clueless, not your clueless. Go back to the public school you came from and ask for your money back.

  5. Nope. I'm not clueless. I am NIMBY and Proud of IT!

  9. ....with that statement you must be an Ecke Trust funder.

Hopefully the force will win you over some day. Be well young one.

    Your day will come.

  10. Why can't we just all get along?

  11. I second what Rodney said.

  12. Why? So nothing changes? That sounds mighty complacent. I don't want to get along with those that are destroying Encinitas and America. If they want to get along with us, they should be better citizens and patriots. Stand up for your principals and be proud of yourself. Don't be a putz like all those government workfare recipients.

One thing for certain is change. Embrace it or fear it, but its going to happen anyway.

the complacent Americans fearing change will get it regardless and I look forward to it. The current slugfest is disgusting.

Anon 8:30: You're a legend in your own mind. I guess you made your money the old fashioned way. Who died and made you king? When you talk about us, who are you speaking for and why do they let you speak for them? It must be nice to have no debt and everything paid for in cash.

Actually, it should read: "You're clueless" not "Your clueless". Join your nemisis back at adult ed for punctuation day.

  17. Anon2:25- I wrote it that way so he/she would feel more comfortable. We don't want to stigmatize someone for poor English grammar. It's better to feel good about yourself than do anything properly.

Interesting that you caught that, you are the only one.

    Merry Christmas

  18. After thousands of generations or our evolving legacy on this planet of potential, how come most people weren't left a pot to piss in from their lineage?
And who would be upset with anyone who's grandfather had the wherewithall to become great? Someone angry at their own ancestors no doubt.

And while you're at it, stop profiling people here on the blog. There is no way you could have known that 10:18 is a he-she.

  20. Meathead,

After thousands of generations or our evolving legacy on this planet of potential, how come most people weren't left a pot to piss in from their lineage?

Good question. For most of that time, people were living at a subsistence level and couldn't afford to accumulate wealth.

More recently, the culture of consumption is the culprit. Look at all the jackasses on the freeway driving BMWs who have more debt than assets.

Finally, as Lenin is erroneously quoted, the surest way to crush the bourgeoisie is grind them betwen the millstones of inflation and taxation. That's what's happening to our generation.

    Got gold? Get more!

1% of the nations population controls 50% of our nations wealth. Trickle down economics clearly does not work. How much wealth do you really need? Gold is the new bubble W.C. They will figure out how to steal all the gold next.

  22. The Ecke foundation should give us all a free poinsettia every holiday season. Seems like a fair trade for all the open space that will be paved over by their development group. Someone is right, they don't even grow poinsettias in Encinitas anymore. Does anyone even remember all the old groves and strawberry fields that used to be here? This is the flower capital after all.

  23. We need a community garden to feed those that are less fortunate!

I would also welcome those from beyond our city boundries.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Why doesn't Encinitas have a community shelter?

I would even support a local parcel tax to go directly to those in need.

    Let's push our elected official.

  25. Anon7;18- you have had all your time living here to buy land and keep it fallow, but you didn't. Put your $$$ where your mouth is.....

    ReplyDelete
  26. Anon 8:30: I am not a fortunate son. I did not inherit my house or land from my parents. I will not buy land that I cannot afford to live on. I bought land in Oregon and Mexico. That is where I will retire not in over populated So. California. As soon as my kids are out of school I am out of here.

  27. Good. One person out of here. I hope hundreds of thousands follow. Ciao and don't come back now ya hear?

  28. Good luck with that. Enjoy your limited open space, clogged freeways and filthy air. I won't miss you either.
