The sixth picture is Jeremy Wright, the master mind behind art wars and Mike Murphy, on the right, is the manager of the 7-11 who has got to be the coolest man in Leucadia. Hail!! As he said to me yesterday, "This is a win- win for the kids and the neighborhood. It will give them pride in their community and encourage them to do other good things in the future". Amen!!
Also, this didn't cost one cent of tax payer dollars. It was an all volunteer effort.
Kudos to Mike Murphy for hosting this amazing experience and for Jeremy Wright for this amazing idea! For once, a truly positive event for teens- both the young artists and the teen observers. Way to go Jeremy and Mike! Think I'll go down to 7-11 and buy something!

Lots of cool stuff for the whole family, including making smoothies form bicyle power, and hey, you will even get to met me:) Hopefully, that won't keep anyone away. Sponsored by lots of folks. Absolutely love it. This is the spirit. It is simply paint and it is free and it is positive. What could possibly be wrong with any of those things? I do keep hoping to find the title typo changed to Art Wars instead of At Wars - we have too much of that already.
I knew it was only a matter of time before some of you naysayers would slither on the blog and make negative comments. This could be the friggin MONA LISA and you still wouldn't be satisfied. You weren't there, and you didn't see how happy the kids were and how well behaved they were. Yeah, yeah, art is in the eye of the beholder, but shame on you for being harsh on the kids.
I didn't hear any critisism of the kids. I question the judgement of adults who think this is the best way to develop their talents. An opinion that doesn't fit your world view is not necessarily negative, but the pejorative "slither" is. Don't forget that when you point your finger at someone else, four other fingers are pointing back at you.

ReplyDeleteIt is so difficult to compute how living in paradise as we all do, there are still those who fixate on hate and ugliness. It is baffling.
