  1. Jim's mind changes second to second. Its called dimentia. Its not fair to ask him to remember what he said or thought a minute or two ago. That poor old rambling man should have stepped down 10 years ago.

    What an embarrasment.

Jim needs to go because he is not competent and makes bad decisions. Jerome Stocks and Maggie Houligan need to go because they love and are in bed with the City Employees Union. Jerome Stocks is also owned and schooled by the Ecke Trust Funders and kind.

Man we have a jacked up council. Teresa Barth is the only worthy council member.

People better get out the word about all the bad things Jerome Stocks, Maggie Houlihan, and rambling old man James-forget my thoughts-Bond. Better yet nest election open your wallets big time for worthy opponents to these clowns, and lets get limits - 2 terms max.

With Term limits we don't have to watch people with name of fictitious stars like "spiderman" stay in office until they rot and die.

How are those term limit petitions going Dr. Lorri?

  2. What a missed opportunity to at least end the rancor. At least we all know now where things stand.

Not to be too hokey but it's a real tragedy for our city that people cannot just disagree. We're not talking about life or death disagreements here which certainly don't deserve such vitriol.

Usually I don't, but, I'm having to go anonymous from now on because in this town there is retribution if you mess with Stocks.

Thank you Teresa Barth for fighting the good fight.

    ReplyDelete
  3. For all you brown-nosers out there, Barth ain't that nice.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Last night showed Gaspar's true colors.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Well, we got what they paid for.

I also know how vindictive Stocks is and am not using my name.
I am embarrassed for our city.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Well??
Are you ready for flaming torches and pitch forks??
    If not now, when???

  7. I think it'll be kind of cute to have Malibu Barbie as mayor some day. Wonder what she'll wear?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Marrying the rich boss has its advantages, but expensive clothes and conspicuous consumption don't make you classy.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I told you that Gaspar was a botoxed version of Dalager. I predict she doesn't last the entire 4 years.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Gaspar will go to work for Bilbray in 2 years.

  11. Let me see:

    a. provide for my family
    b. provide for another needy family
    c. give money to "ANY" politician

    NOT A DIFFICULT CHOICE!

Good luck, I'm no longer interested in playing this stupid political game - I'm out!

But I'll continue to support Teresa and hopefully Tony will run again in 2012.

  12. I think it very interesting that so many people in these comment sign anonymous for fear of retribution from Jerome Stocks. How have we let this pompous bully strong arm out city council. Jim Bond changed his vote because of the way Dan Dalager was treated???? Teresa Barth did not campaign on Dan Dalager's "mistakes"despite the fact that he and Kristin Gaspar ran a mud slinging campaign, dirty and very personal campaign against her and Tony Kranz. Kristin Gaspar had never attended a city council before her election or even after her election. I have seen Tony Kranz at every city council meeting I have attended as well as other important civic meetings. Kristin Gaspar has shown her true colors last night despite her campaign promises. It will not be long before we will all see that Tony Kranz is the one who should be sitting on the City Council not Kristin Gaspar.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Unfortunately, Encinitas is going to get what it voted for. Four more years of Jerome Stocks and his gang.
For those of you that think the mayor's job is simply honorary...the mayor can place any item on the agenda without any votes. This is important as another council member cannot do that without three votes. Now that Kristin Gaspar has joined with the good old boys..what do you think the chances are that the three vote rule will be changed back to two??? it is easy to make all sorts of promised before the election which Kristin did but now her true colors are showing.

Wake up Encinitas, we cannot let what is happening at city hall lull us into making this same mistake again.

  14. I am tired of Jerome Stocks and his sneaky back room politics. What really scares me that it is rumored he wants Martin Garrick's seat at the state level.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I know it was rightfully Teresa's turn. But would she have voted for anyone who raised charges against her if it were their turn to be mayor? Would you?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Barth raised charges against Gaspar?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Ya know,

The boys have done a lot of shitty stuff to Barth and still she voted for them for these positions and appointments.

Get over it. She's not mean one hear even if she privately and confidentially asked for an investigation of Dalager's sexist behavior. Dalager is a 1950's sexist. His actions after the San Dieguito High School rape hoax while he was wandering around campus "looking for 15 year old girls" was disgusting.

    ReplyDelete
  18. No wonder LB is getting a bad name. It posts this kind of crap:

while he was wandering around campus "looking for 15 year old girls" was disgusting. REALLY???

We are getting a bad reputation for posting nonsense or having nothing good to share...

    ReplyDelete
  19. The issue of the complaint by Teresa Barth would not have been aired if not for Jerome Stocks. He was the one who made a big scene about it and is now using it to "punish" Teresa. Just who does he think he is. It is about time for the citizens to take him out of the picture. If we don't we will have 12 lane freeway through our town and this bully in the State Government. Now there is a really scary thought.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Money wins elections. If everyone who knows better and owns a $1M + house, had put the full $250 into each candidate, we would not be having these discussions. Tony Krantz was woefully underfunded. Teresa was as well, but managed to get re-elected. Next election we need three candidates with $50k each, plus we need organizations to put out positive campaign mailers, etc. outside the candidate's campaigns.

    ReplyDelete
  21. mAlice in Funderland, Tweedledum and Tweedledee -Evil now in charge. These three are caricatures of people with real ethics. P3 and his ilk in Funderland need to be watched and exposed for the developer fantasy nightmare they want to make this community.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I'd add that Stocks with these actions is asking for what Dalager got. Someone should, and is going to bust him and expose his skeletons.

One last thought, if Stocks goes to the state level I would contribute to his campaign just to get him out of our town. At least the Democratic majority in Sacramento would make him properly effete.

    ReplyDelete
  23. The Barth supporters should get their own brown-noser blog. Oh yea, they don't have the money cause they don't work.

    ReplyDelete
  24. 6:04 I think we have seen you before with your ignorant labels. If you cannot say something rational at least say something relevant.

    ReplyDelete
  25. The trouble with Tony and Teresa is that they ran an ethical campaign a opposed to the dirt that was slung around by Kristin Gaspar and Dan Dalager. Teresa and Tony campaigned on the issues as opposed to Gaspar and Dalager who had nothing to say so they got personal no doubt aided by Jerome Stocks who is out to get Teresa no matter what. This should be a TV show....The buying of City Hall.

  26. Old and in the wayDecember 15, 2010 8:23 PM

Jim has lost his shriveled, crusty old balls. He has lost the plot and needs to go. Term limits must be a priority if things are to change at city hall.

    ReplyDelete
  27. The only winners Council and Staff with their huge pensions and health care benefits forever!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Dude stop beating the pension drum. We have heard it already. We all get it, ok. Reform will be done at some point, it's in the City's best interest and they know it. Look to the model that Solana Beach has done recently. It will happen, so just get over your self and give us all a break from your stupid rants about pensions. Stick to the topic or post your own thread.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I overhead a developer type recently say that whatever we raise, they'll double. If we raise 25,000, they'll raise 50,000.

I also heard their going after certain individuals - payback for Dalager, I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Who cares what a developer says. They are always lying anyway. Mick acted like he was well off until the moment the banks foreclosed.

    ReplyDelete
  31. 8:35- Dude apparently you don't get it, because your not storming City Hall.

Get over yourself. The City has no money for the projects that should be built and the open space that should be bought and the parks that should be completed because of the pension fiasco.

Its the number one problem facing our City.

Solana Beach was not the solution. Ending the pensions and taxing the existing pensions 50% is the solution.

Until its fixed and the public wakes up, You will hear my message.

If you don't like it, too bad.

I don't like your message or you calling me dude.

    ReplyDelete
  32. 8:39-

Here come the lawsuites. Thanks Jerome for wasting more of our tax money.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Going after people? Is this Nazi Germany? This is a small town with huge easily bruised egos. Doesn't scare me at all.

    ReplyDelete
  34. What ever DUDE. No one cares what you think. Use your real name and stand before the council if you're so awesome and all knowing. Better yet... Run for mayor clown.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Whatever douche-

You are what you drink. Better yet I smell a pension pussy.

I can't wait until the first your pension gets reduced so I can hear you crying like a little ambulance chaser when the jury reads no punitive damages awarded. I was a bruised thumbnail nothing more.

I hate people that ignore reality and I hate people that milk the system. So apparently I hate you and all you government pension receiving little bitches. Most of all I hate the fucking politicians that enabled the public tax give away to little no ethical standards pussies willing to gobble at the taxpayer trough. The current ones on our Council include Jerome Stocks and Maggie Houlihan.

Get a real job pussy and quite milking us taxpayers.

  37. 839,

    Send the leucadiablog an email.

    ReplyDelete
  38. and you a leach, freeloader, worthless dude.

Every society has them, unfortunately, the "entitled" Americans have way more than the rest of the world with the expection of the French.

Have a great freeloading day, Pension P.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Some people on this blog don't get it. There is a pension problem and it's real. It was only Barth and Kranz during the campaign who supported agendizing discussion of making changes.

This won't happen now with Stocks, Bond, and Gaspar in control. Their game is to maintain the status quo and pretend everything is financially fine at the city and push development as fast as possible to increase city revenues. They will choose the new city manager and control the General Plan Update. They have a tough battle ahead, as the economy will work against them. There is a touch of unreality and denial in their optimism.

Unless the pension problem is dealt with, there will in an ever increasing squeeze on discretionary spending. Victor Graves of the SDWD just retired amid congratulations all around. How much will he be getting in his pension?

Governor elect Jerry Brown and Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa of Los Angeles have recently recognized the problem, and the problem is everywhere. Will Encinitas be last to own up?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Who do you think they will put in the city managers position? A puppet for sure.

    Hazeltine or Muir

They both need to be eliminated as possibilities and this blog could do it.

    ReplyDelete
  41. The next person that needs to be neutralized is Jerome. He is a blight and a plague upon the good citizens of Encinitas, even if they are too busy to know it. We all need to keep our eye on the ball and gather information to discredit Jerome in the next election or sooner if possible.

    ReplyDelete
  42. My contacts say Hazeltine is the front runner. It's difficult for me to see them hiring someone from the outside. Too much to hide. They want an insider who is ambitious and compliant. Hazeltine fits perfectly.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I hope its Hazeltine. That would be hiliarious. Too much fun to watch that bumbling idiot stick his neck out, time and time again.

Remember the whole changing the street name of Encinitas Boulevard to Sister City Japan Street.... that was hilarious.

I can't waite. I agree. It will be an insider.

My bet is Muir. They are just trying to figure out how they can sell it to the public without an uprising.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Council majority doesn't care what the activist public thinks.

Gaspar knows the developers can buy her elections.

    Bond will never run again.

Stocks knows the developers can buy him elections.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I thought they said they were going to do a national search for the City manager. It would really piss me off if they took anyone from the City and made them City Manager. Not that they really care what any of us on this blog think. In fact, I heard someone at the City say we were all a bunch of losers, especially Leucadians and Cardiffians. They hate these two groups the most for some reason. Why do you think it has taken so long for either community to get their Streetscape or Specific Plan?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Watch the amount of special interest money pour into the 2012 elections. It will show the developers and unions picks.

    ReplyDelete
  47. much ado about nothingDecember 16, 2010 3:04 PM

I am sick of the inuendo and hearsay that gets repeated over and over on this blog. " I heard someone say..." Who said that at the City? Name names. Prove it! Some of you just make shit up.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Bond...I have heard Bond refer to troublemakers from Cardiff.

    ReplyDelete
  49. much ado about nothingDecember 16, 2010 3:22 PM

Did you hear Jim say all Leucadians and Cardiffians are losers or was he refering to a few specific citizens?

    ReplyDelete
  50. He was referring to Cardiff citizens generically, not to specific "troublemakers" and not to "all". His point was that those troublemakers in Cardiff would object to whatever development was being discussed at the time. It may have been the hospital or Hall Park, it's been some time.

I do think there is a view (likely accurate) that the people in Cardiff and Leucadia are too "watchdoggy", and that slows down development with rules and process.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I heard Stocks say that he was so sick of the people from Leucadia. All they ever do is complain. You give them an inch and they will take a mile. I have also heard that he hangs out at The Office (a bar in Cardiff) but since I don't go there that is just a rumor I heard. I directly heard the first one.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I've heard Teresa Barth say that New Encinitas and the Village Park residences are the "Village Idiots of Encinitas".

I hate this say it, but, I agree with you Teresa, keep up the fight!

    ReplyDelete
  53. much ado about nothingDecember 16, 2010 6:09 PM

You have obviously have never been to the Office. Jerome would never slum with the common folks who like to have a few libations at that dive bar. He'd get his ass kicked if he showed up there. Just more hearsay and bullshit from the peanut gallery.

    ReplyDelete
  54. The Office is too highbrow for me. I'm more of a Shanty type of guy. Never seen Jerome in there.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I heard aliens say "You people of earth are idiots! Stupid, stupid, stupid!"

    ReplyDelete
  56. 722-

you are spot on. You know the truth.

I wonder when the public will wake up?

    ReplyDelete
  57. 4:51
Mike, you know that is not true.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Teresa Barth needs to quit saying bad things about the citizens west of I-5!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Soon to be exposedDecember 17, 2010 7:35 AM

We will hang Jerome, we have plenty of time before the next election.

We need to focus on Hazeltine and Muir. I think a blog performance evaluation is in order. The sooner the better. The national search for city manager is just a front and another waste of taxpayers money.

Hazeltine is easy, he has a living legacy that will be easy to exploit.

The Chief however... Besides his obvious flaw... the uncontrollable urge for fast food and donuts. His performance as chief and the poor performance of the fire department has to be exposed to the public.

Are the citizens really getting what they are paying for with salaries, pensions, fire stations and new apparatus? NO... ABSOLUTELY NOT!

What's happening within the fire department, the incompetence, personnel problems and lack of discipline places the taxpayers and citizens at risk and everyone should know what's happening under their nose.

    Soon to be exposed

    ReplyDelete
  60. Its funny Andreen can't stay away from this blog. Like everything else he does, he own blog was a huge failure.

Its amazing that anyone in encinitas would give Mike Andreen the time of day.

What is really scary is Jerome Stocks is buddies with the poison.

What is as scary is so is the Fire Chief Mark Muir and his wife the School board member Maureen Muir.

Every intelligent encinitas resident knows Mike Andreen is poison to anything he touches.

Lets just hope that Kristin Gaspar is not in bed with Mike Andreen.

    ReplyDelete
  61. 7:35- I agree and can't wait to hear more about it.

Why are we spending all our tax money for huge pay and pensions for guys hanging out in Newly built overview four season stations with resort workout room, gourmet kitchen, big screen plasmas on the walls and comfy lounge chairs and beds.

Not only we pay them like their queens and then they retire at full pay at 50, but we also spend the rest of our tinsy tax money on building them $6 million dollar Stations in each location to boot.

Answer- Union ones Jerome Stocks and Maggie Houligan. Its that simple.

    This town needs an enema!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Did anyone really expect Gaspar to be anything more than a stooge? 30 years old and faked credentials as CFO; come-on, she doesn't know which end is up. She is Dalager's spare tire - that was confirmwed with her nominations for mayor and deputy mayor. Unity and fair play??? Those illusions faded the first night - it is up to the watchdog citizens to ride herd on this bunch of incompetents in city government.

    ReplyDelete
  63. The fire department and Mark Muir are a joke. I don't mind paying for a quality service. The fire service here in Encinitas is bodunk and far from quality a with big city price tag.

    ReplyDelete
  64. We need Wonder Woman for Mayor!~

    ReplyDelete
  65. Malibu Barbie as a spare tire....Good one!!

    ReplyDelete
  66. James Bond has served 18 years, when will he realize he got parol about 10 years ago?

    ReplyDelete
  67. I don't understand your use of the word Parol. James Bond was a useless ATT sales dick who got an early retirement as the Government subsidized company realized that they had to compete in the real world. He was dead wood that had to go.

James Bond's only contribution to Encinitas was having the same name as a movie hero.

the Man has nothing for vision and just likes the position because he knows nothing else to do in his retirement.

God Bless you Bond. You have done the best you could given that a movie created a whirlwind around your name. You have lived you life riding on name only. That's a trippy thing to think about. Its hard for me to wonder what my life would be like if my parents named me Paris considering my last name is Hilton.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Bond - James Bond - he's been in office 18 years!!! Is that possible?? By God, we certainly need term limits if that is the case! Encinitas has come of age and the people in office have not served her well. The fact that someone as inexperienced as Gaspar can get elected by a slick advertising campaign alone does not bode well for our future . . . the city needs commitment and competence. I suspect she'll become the female version of George Bush - the decider!

    ReplyDelete
  69. With these hater attitudes, we'll elect no one in 2012.

Remember, all these folks you keep hating have some sort of following within the community. Some are even liked and well known.

    ReplyDelete
  70. The hater attitudes don't originate on the blog. The blog only reflects the hatred on the city council.

There is real bad blood between Barth and Stocks. Gaspar ran her phony, positionless campaign as a uniter, but it's clear now that she's just a Stocks stooge.

I don't care so much about the Barth-Stocks animosity. What bums me out is that Stocks again has a majority to block pension reform and support over-development.

The fact that Bond, who opposed the huge 2005 pension increase, now supports Stocks is disgusting.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Obama was liked and well known. W Bush was liked and well known. Clinton was liked and well known.

Do all these people that like Gaspar know she has been posturing and fabricating a likable persona so she could start her political career? Her mistake was showing how phony she is on day one.

    ReplyDelete
  72. You must be a retard.

"With these hater attitudes, we'll elect no one in 2012."

Of course someone will be elected in 2012.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I think everyone knew that Gaspar wasn't going to be an "independent" voice on the council - she was specifically run to maintain the 3 council lock lead by $tock$. She also showed that she has no regard for the law by violating the Brown Act of non-secrecy. She nominated the "boys" for the mayor/deputy mayor positions and when asked if she had previously discussed this issue with her boss ($tock$), she gave an evasive answer - translation - yes she had. The developers feel confident that they have a council for at least 2 more years - until $tock$ and Bond come up for reelection in 2012. Gaspar is dead weight for 4 years.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Watch carefully over the next two years. Gaspar will vote with Stocks and Bond on just about every vote, if not all of them. That is why she was selected to run.

Read her interview on Encinitas Patch. She is vapid and vacuous and will stay that way until she gets out from under the thumb of those you bought and paid for her. There may be substance and moral fiber in her character, but so far it's not showing. She got off to a terrible start with her substitute motion. She has becomes the epitome of divisiveness.

    ReplyDelete
  75. 12:48 well said. And actions DO have consequences. Money and power do not mean you have class, and Gaspar has neither.
