101 trees are coming! The Council voted on Wednesday night to fund phase 1 of the Leucadia Streetscape. This phase has trees in it, with irrigation. Now that preliminary engineering has been done, they can plant trees now, and not have to dig them up later. This is a good thing.
Why is the first phase of the Streetscape in Encinitas and not Leucadia? A Street to North Court is not Leucadia. The second phase will be at least 15 to 20 years from now as you can bet the real downtown Encinitas will get their second phase long before we will. And they have been waiting what, around five years. Too bad they don't start at the north end and work south.
