6 days until Christmas! Support your local merchants!

Dear friends and neighbors,

Please do any last minute holiday shopping within Encinitas city limits. Let's support our local businesses and keep our sales tax money right here where we need it. Resist the temptation to drive to the mall and shop locally instead (and remember, the Forum off of Leucadia Blvd is NOT in Encinitas. It is in Carlsbad).

Leucadia suggestions:

The Gold Coast Plaza in Leucadia has nice gifts for the ladies in your life. Everyone likes gift certificates to Lou's Records. Ducky Waddles has interesting gifts for that hard to shop for person. Stop in Caldwell's Antiques and Bamboo 2 U for something funky and unusual. Buy Encinitas Surfboards t-shirts to send to relatives out of state. Take visiting out of towners out to dinner on the Leucadia coast highway (La Especial, Jamroc, Robbie's Roadhouse, Papagayo, Auggie's House of Crab, Leucadia Sushi Bar, Yu Me Ya aka Sake House. Have your holiday family photo professionally framed at the Corner Frame Shop. After getting a cup of coffee at the Pannikan walk around and visit some of the cool and funky boutiques. You never know what you will find.

  1. Hell Yeah! I have 3 more years and I get my $95,478 a year pension forever. In 12 years I will clear $1,145,000.00. Not as much as my buddies are getting but I will learn to manage.... Now that is sweet and life is good!

    We need more revenue!!!!

  7. I wish anon 11:06 would wake up and recognize the problems in the City and quite criticizing others for caring. Do us all favor and don't read or contribute to the blog.

    sincerely,

The topic was, "Support you local merchants". The ending line was,” Learn more about the benefits of supporting your local mom and pop businesses on the 3/50 Project.

    This was a nice message.
    Now read what you wrote.
A while ago there was a topic concerning a local merchant raising money to re-hire an art teacher in Cardiff. It was probably you knuckleheads that began to rant, offer untrue figures about pensions and how unfair it was that teachers make sooooo much money.
While you then and now rant with your 'one trick pony' diatribes, money was raised to re-hire the art teacher and caring citizens help support local businesses.
You offered NOTHING, other to distract from a beneficial subject concerning our community.
    I agree with 11:06.
    But, Merry Christmas anyway.

  9. There are a lot of great shops on Hwy 101--- Queen Eileens is a great gift place, Coast Traders, Gardenology and even the used book store. Local is good!

  10. City unions are killing California and must be crushed. they are infested with Ticks sucking the life out of the taxpayers and providing no benifit to the community.

Support your local businesses and vote out any politician supporting public employee unions.
