  2. what the hell happened to the Streetscape which would make me want to walk in Leucadia?

I won't be stepping foot on that stretch of nightmare until traffic speeds are reduced. My family's lives are way more important that a stroll down a street that is blight and unsafe.

  3. There are sidwalks now in this area. I do not agree that the area is not safe. It will be better later, but I will be supporting our local businesses.
I encourage all to join us.
    Do not fear.

  5. I'm organizing a bus trip to the Oceanside Walmart on that night. We're going to meet at Panikin, drink some of their free water and use the toilet, then load up the van and go to Oceanside Walmart.

The van leaves promptly at 6:30pm. We'll wave at all the people on the 101 as we drive past.

  7. YEP, that trash heap has got to go. More than an eye sore, it's a environmental nightmare.

As long as that remains on 101, 101 will never be really nice.

Q- Will there be movies in the park this year??

  13. on that tip (the artwalk logo)
i'm a professional designer and that logo sorta sucks (in my professional opinion)
it looks like a prostitute street walker and has nothing to do with "art"

  14. pre-incorporation-

I traded in my bong and wife beater tee-shirts in the 70s maybe you should consider changing a few things to better Leucadia.

I think the logo is fricken lame. Lame as I've seen. I know Fred and Leucadia can do much better.

  17. Dear Constructive Critic,
That was not constructive. It was more like just being a dick to someone who has contributed so much to our community.
What have you ever offered to the common good?

  18. The Art Walk logo stays.
    Case closed.

But the ArtWalk does need to improve, ie get bigger and better.
The entire north end of Leucadia is ignored.
The ArtWalk should set a goal of having 1000 artist on 101 by 2015.
Close the south bound lanes of 101 to traffic and split the north bound lanes into N and S. Use both lanes south as space for art and people and food stales.

The ArtWalk can and must be bigger and better, more, more and MORE.

I was gonna do the Keep on Truckin' legs, but they were taken.

  20. Actually, the legs change a little every year, and suggestions are welcome
...and just so ya know, the LeucaiART WALK logo was inspired by the leg lamp in the Christmas Story. (You can't top a major award.)

  21. LeucadiArt is a juried show this year. One would think that the art displayed could be improved by this change. Although there have always been great gems in the field.
Doing the whole 101 streach is a few years away. Once the Streetscape creates a safer pedestrian enviornment, particularly in the north, this could happen and should.
I hope I am around when the streetscape is completed.
    Support our local artists.

  22. The logo is lame. Listen and learn or keep your head in the sand. Prosper or peril.
