R.I.P. Kit Horn

Kit Horn passed away on 3/26/2010 at age 80. He was a true stoked surfer and a gentleman and an inspiration to all. Leucadia will not be the same without him.

Surfed with him hundreds of times at north reef.One time he was taking off and a guy paddeling out did nothing to avoid him so Kit just ran him over thus damaging what this dumbass said was his brand new board.Kit just pointed up to his house and said "I live there.I'll fix your fucking board when I'm done surfing".Classic

  3. got 2 hang & talk surf story w/ him about just weeks before he passed, he had a board that was under peter cole's home on the north shore 4 the past 40 year s& he shared a wonderful story w/ me about the day he broke it in half w/ just him & eddie paddling 4 a wave @ the bay n 69.

    Kit was a true legend and THE ONLY LOCAL at NORTH REEF along with his wonderful family, my prayers are with you. Kit was the best guy to sit with in the line up, he still had the stoke even though he had to belly that board on the bigger waves, if you saw that white helmet you knew Kit was out and it was going to be a good day. He charged to the end and we will miss him. Peter Sternberger
