  1. The argument that a road will ruin a surf break can only be true if the road actually goes through the water, anything else is pure and utter BULLSHIT!!! Perhaps you would like to explain how a road miles from the beach will destroy the surf break, I just don't understand this argument. But I am open to listening to your side of the story. And no I won't bother to do my own research, I'm too lazy!!

  2. Will it affect the surf spot? A lot of guys in suits claim no. They even hired a local surfer geologist to back their toll road idea. You can find his video on youtube if you search enough. But the problem is, they don't understand how dynamic surf spots are, what makes them tick. The shape of the point, the sand, the kelp, the swell window, the rocks, it is all a whole sum of it's parts. The toll road shill seems to think it's all about the large cobblestones. While the Trestles cobbles are unique to Trestles, by his logic you could harvest them all and deposit them up and down the coast and create many Trestles-esque surf spots. But the nearly pristine watershed at Trestles will be impacted by the construction and future development that will come with the road. We are talking major water quality issues. Many things WILL affect Trestles. Should take such a gamble with southern California's most popular and consistent surf spot? Waves are NOT an unlimited resource like so many non-surfer believe.

    Besides, toll roads are gay.

  3. I'll tell you want Utter Bull shit is check out the story about govenement perks.

"The new guidelines, which went into effect Dec. 20, 2004, state that retiring nonemergency service employees who are 60 years old can receive 3 percent of their current salary times the number of years they worked for the city. Thus, a 60-year-old employee who has worked for 20 years could receive an annual retirement package totaling 60 percent of his or her salary for life.

A person who has worked longer can claim higher benefits. It's possible to make more than 100 percent of a city salary in retirement, depending on how long the person's employment lasted, whether the person previously worked for any other municipalities and whether the person has purchased extra credits in the system.

Some cities have found themselves in financial trouble over the new retirement benefit, but cash-flush Carlsbad planned for the added expense, city finance employees have said."

    Encinitas is just as bad.

Fucking Stocks just keeps giving away our City.
