"I firmly believe one of the greatest legacies we can leave to future generations is the heritage of our land. This expanse of acreage, San Onofre Bluffs State Beach, now has it's future guaranteed as an official state park."

-Governor Ronald Reagan, in establishing the State Park at San Onofre, April 3, 1971

"Revel in the freedom to protest the ruthless greed of developers and big money scum."

  1. Thanks JP, I'll be going, with bells on.

I oppose this plan, which is a boon to developers, and very risky, too, for them, in this time of housing "crisis."

We don't want to wreck this pristine wilderness and surf area. You are right. Reagan wanted to preserve this land also.

I'm glad that the parking is free, now. $9.00 seemed excessive, and of course we were worried about finding the vouchers, getting there early enough. Thanks for letting us know.

  2. Fricken Politicians pro development like Jerome Stocks suck.

    Save Trestles.

Considering water bills will go up 100% in the next several years, I think its time to demand a moratorium. Why add to the problem?

  7. It's 2:30, ain't over by a longshot. Public testimony just began, about 500 speakers with 2 minutes each, Commission deliberation beyond that. Could be a long evening, maybe midnight. There are over 2,500 people in attendance, the largest ever for a Coastal Commission hearing. Get on down there and help make history. Don't let a rich mans toll road screw up a world class surf spot and a campground that was given the people of California as a mitigation for the construction of San Onofre Nuclear Power Plant.

  8. The movement would have more cred if Surfrider was not involved. They tend to sell out to the highest bidder.

  9. That doesn't make sense in this case. The highest bidder is the TCA.

  10. Anon 5:36 that is a pretty lame comment considering Surfrider has from the beginning been fighting AGAINST the toll road.
