Close Call at Beacons Beach

If this person had put their sleeping bag just a few feet over they would have got flushed by the drainpipe. Photo taken this morning.

  1. No, that's one of those several outdoorsmen who thoughtfully climb the cliff and walk down into town to use restaurant restrooms after a lot of beer and burritos.

  2. See, I told you Encinitas doesn't need public restrooms!

  3. 2 important things in that photo, 1- there is a turd not far from the sleeper, nahhh we don't need no stinking toilets and 2-note the cobble stones. Gee to hear JP tell it the entire beach is sand...NOT.

  4. to anon 417,

to hear Aceti tell it there was never cobblestones before he moved here from New Jersey 10 years ago.

JP has constantly said that cobblestones are part of the system and when the south swells come in the summer the sand washes up over the cobbles. Two weeks ago we had a wind swell and it pulled the sand back. It is not gone.

Also notice how the tourist in the sleeping bag has no problem avoiding paying the tourist tax.

  6. There are freshly uncovered patches of cobbles and a few strewn around the beach. The sand levels are still decent after a week of 6 ft high tides and northwest swell.

  7. I'VE BEEN SURFIN' CALI SINCE 1958.IN EVERY AREA OF CALI WITH COASTAL CLIFFS ,THE EXTREME HIGH TIDES HIT THEM.ADDING SAND TO THESE AREAS WILL DO NOTHING BUT KILL SAND CRABS AND GENERALLY DISRUPT THE ECOLOGY OF THE LITORAL ZONE.STEVE ACETI AND MIKE ANDREEN NEED TO JUST ADMIT THAT THIER FOLLY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANYTHING BUT GETTING THIER CREEPY REPUBLICAN HANDS ON PUBLIC MONEY.
