Harriet Seldin's website is www.DrHarrietSeldin.com Hooklink said no Seldin website. What other lies does Hoodlink tell? Whoever you choose, be an informed voter and ignore the sleaze.
If hoodlinkers read this blog they would have known that Harriet had a website. Her link is on the left link bar.
If the Collier campaign team read this blog they would have known that people were aware that Collier filled out forms with questions about needle exchange. When Collier was reviewing her comments with her campaign team, the team could have "reminded" Collier of this fact before she called it a lie.
The editors of the Hoodlink apologize for our overlooking the need to update the listings of the candidate's websites in the latest Hoodlink. Dr. Harriet Seldin does have a campaign website. It is www.drharrietseldin.com/"
Stocks told the public, in print, a variety of times that the city could not put in a larger pipe in the $4.7 mil flood fixing project along the track because the Coastal Commission would not allow a larger pipe. This was not true and he knew it. The Coastal Commission was never asked if a larger would be OK. The reason that the pipe was smaller was to save money. $4.7 mil was spent and did not solve the problem. Orange bags, blighted rail coridor, unsave xing at Leucadia, no communication with public and no esthetic plans for the future. Sponsored an ill advised crossing solution.
If you go to Dr. Seldin's website, you'll find that she does embellish just a wee tad bit with her comment that "Our whole city was almost destroyed in the October 2007 wildfires.'
Harriet here--my comment on fire risk is NOT an embellishment. We were very luck last October that the winds died down and the resources to fight the fires increased. There were vast areas of San Diego County that were destroyed in the fires. The fires were stopped not very far east of us. We were in either voluntary or mandatory evacuation areas, depending on where in Encinitas. Fire prevention and preparedness are critical. In the latest "hot zone" report, part of Olivenhain is IN one of the highest risk areas.
Am I the only idiot that did not know that today is the time change? I haven't seen it in the papers. Anyway an FYI. At this very moment my computer tells me it is 11:04AM. And I thought it was 12;04. CARRY ON good citizens. One more hour to get out the vote.
Dr.Seldin- Stop posting under "anonymous" and start posting under your name. Unless you are trying to remain "anonymous" and not get elected!! If that is your goal, then you are succeeding.
Anon9:09- Jerry Stocks has a plan for Leucadia, he is going to "mute" the crossing bells at the intersection!! That is his plan to deal with the train problem in Leucadia. What?? You want more?? You were expecting more?? How naive of you!!
HOW CONVEEEENIENT! The City takes off the archives right before the election. No excuses. Even if they needed to upgrade, they could have waited. Still another reason not to vote for the incumbants.
RSPB: There are many reasons people post anonymously, and you do too.. We ALL know who you really are. Well, almost all. The reason is simple. If some people did not post anonymously, they could lose their jobs; have liens placed on their houses; the list goes on. It is true that I sometimes posted anonymously, or under a different name-no worries I don't take yours:) The reason is simple. I have, at times, been harrassed by Glenn Sabine and company. I will also say publically, I am not afraid of him. However, there are some people that even I am afraid to cross. And, those of you who know me, know that I am not easily intimidated. So, to Harriet, I hope you keep posting, whether under your own name or a pseudonym. The message is what counts. I have only decided on one candidate at this time. You can look on the City's website, if it is up at this time, to find out who that person is. However, it should not matter what I think. We all have our own reasons for voting for the candidates of our choice, It is still a Democracy-even in Encinitas.. That does not mean I won't vote for three. I probably will. But there is one person, in particular, that I think would be a welcome addition to the Council. Good luck to all come Tuesday. The voters will get their chance.
It's been 2 days now, and Mr. Eiler has neither stated HOW MUCH he is willing to wager the success of his complaint, nor if his name is either Harry or Henry.
Dr. Lorri- Dr. Seldin posts under anonymous yet signs her name. Just state her name at the start of the post. I'm sure there are readers interested in what she has to say considering she is running for council. It only makes sense.
You make as excellent point RSPB. I guess I forgot that she had posted her name too. Mia Culpa:) To Harriet: In case you are unfamiliar with this site, to post your name just hit the NAME/URL button, instead of Anonymous, and then post.
Thanks, Dr. Lorri, for explaining how to post non-anonymously. In the spirit of productive discourse, I have a suggestion for the future. Encinitas is a small city with an intelligent, involved population. This is really participatory democracy. Leucadia Blog has great visibility, but it is (by design) Leucadia-centric. AND personal attacks and bad language may keep some people away from the discussion. It would be great if someone would start an ALL ENCINITAS BLOG, lightly moderated for inappropriate language and nasty personal attacks. In my opinion, the incumbents don't care what residents want. Many Encinitas residents live in communities that don't have the organization of a Town Council to help further their concerns. It would be great if we could all talk to each other online and eventually our conversations could help make Encinitas a better place for all of us.
Again Dr. Lorri I the RSPB hit the nail on the head, now if Sheffo had only followed my advice, he would be a victor tomorrow, sadly I see him finishing 6th or worse of the 9 candidates.
As a former Cardiffian--turned Leucadian--turned Encinitian--returned Cardiffian . . . participating in JP's blog has never been a problem. Issues that affect the funky side of town, affect us all. Besides I can't imagine many other people devoting the time and effort that it must take JP to keep this going 24/7/365.
Ignorance and no integrity are the Cornerstones to Jerome Stocks Life.
ReplyDeleteThe longer he is in office, the worse for Encinitas.

How is he doing? Not so good as far as leucadia.

ReplyDeleteVote Nanninga for smart and sensible representation.

ReplyDeletebig deal... there are other more important issues.
ReplyDeleteWe already spend most of our taxes on fire protection and new fire stations that are nicer than the Ritz.
You lost my vote Ms. Dentist.

ReplyDeleteDocument Archive of CIty shuts down until Nov. 4th. That is what it says in BOLD face on the City's website. Anyone know the reason?

I too will only be voting for one candidate! If I vote for others, I will only be hurting the only true candidate running for council - BOB NANNIGA!

"Mute the crossing bells" sounds a lot like
ReplyDelete"Let them eat cake" to me.
99.9% of Encinitans can't hear the crossing bells from their sofa/park bench anyway.
