Now you tell me it's is a misdemeanor.
ReplyDeleteShould I turn myself in?
Isn't it ironic that those supported by the Sheriffs Association are the ones blatantly breaking the law?
ReplyDeleteEncinitas deserves better.
"camaign" ?
ReplyDeleteAnon 7:18: Don't waste the public's time turning yourself in, just give yourself a swift kick in the ass for being ignorant. God bless America!!
ReplyDeletearrgh...fixed.
ReplyDeleteNo campaigning should be permitted 3 weeks prior to any election, if you haven't made up your mind by now, you haven't been paying attention.
ReplyDeleteRSPB
sorry to go off topic, but...please?
ReplyDeleteThe coolest electic gift store in Leucadia, Casa de Corazon, (next to Little Moore diner), is closing it's doors at the end of this month. How lucky we were to have them. For years, they sponsered a yearly "Day of the Dead" open house with music, home made authentic Mexican food, (prepared by Taina herself), not to mention a well stocked "wet bar", plus they had a similiar event for the annual Leucadia ArtWalk, and served refreshments to the public, free of charge. They will be sorely missed.
However, this weekend, on Sat, Oct 11, at 8am sharp, Taina and Kelly, (the owners), are unloading TONS of the weirdest/wonderful/wowey assortment of Mexican folk art, kooky collectibles, American kitsch, and all that ubiquitous retro pop culture stuff we all love. I encourage you to help support your local business and neighbors, but NO FOOLIN",...if you really like folk art, and vintage cool stuff, this will be worth the effort. And the prices....cheap!!! Since Taina is an artist in her own right, she also has lots of crafty stuff, beads, trim, fabric...I saw her stuff today and it's amazing.
Also, everything in the shop is 30%off, but I think they'd be up some hagglin', if you really wanted to own one of their art pieces.
Thanx.
Mary is right.
ReplyDeleteThese are the very nicest people and a wonderful store and I am very sad to see them close.
It is a loss for Leucadia.
Kelly n' Taina rule.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm with you RSPB, and if I ever ran, my first priority would be to eliminate all campaign signs from Encinitas, period. Meanwhile, I'll be a little hypocritcal with a "do as I say not as I do" and keep Rachelle n Maggies signs in my front yard. Let's see, I got one more vote,,,, hmmm. Maybe I'll sell it. Wow, I fell like a politician already!

ReplyDeleteI see the illegal sheriff signs, but never see the sheriffs.... we need real law enforcement. Not this panzy sheriffs who decide which laws they enforce.
ReplyDeleteNice cutback, JP.
ReplyDeleteRachelle and Maggie signs are only on private property. It is interesting that the sheriffs signs with Jerome, Long and Brandenburg and Jerome's signs are in questionable places. Also, follow the money and check out Jerome's contributions. Almost all of the $12,000.00 comes from outside of the city and that which is from within is mostly developer money. And, he and two others had money from some senior development, not the one connected with the Brown property, but another. You can see the contributions on the city's website.
ReplyDeleteThank-you J.P. for the blog. We will make a difference.
ReplyDeleteNanninga for Encinitas has asked supporters to place yard signs on private property only, once they have permission from the property owners or tenant.
ReplyDeleteI notice that Tony Brandenburg's signs incorrectly say "Judge Brandenburg." It's actually illegal for him to list himself on the ballot that way. He is a pro bono inter tribal judge. He was never a judge in superior court, but was a commissioner, only. No need to be deceptive. He should run on his merits, not on an undeserved honorarium.
ReplyDeleteNow I see they are placed in the public right of way.
I won't be voting for anyone with these kinds of ties to the sheriffs and fire department. That eliminates even more checks and balances.
Vote out the incumbents. Vote for Bob Nanninga, Rachelle Collier and Joe Sheffo.
Sheffo has pledged no new taxes and fees.
Carlsbadcrawl has created "art signs" for Carlsbad hopeful council member Evan Delaney Rogers. We see these signs as art more than bland one-time-use marketing material. Each art sign is numbered, unique and signed by both the artist and Evan.
ReplyDeleteWe hope supporters will keep these signs after the Nov. 4th election as appealing creations rather than adding them to landfills.
