Gaspar's Positions on Issues
Kristin Gaspar's campaign aroused my interest but I knew little about her. Before attending the first candidates forum a few weeks ago at Cardiff, I checked out her web site. When I met her there I pointed out that the the most important section, "positions on issues" was blank. She said that it was an oversite that she would fix shortly. Her fix was unusual, in that she removed the entire section from her web site...
Her positions?? A Black Hole...
ReplyDeleteGaspar is hoping the election comes soon, as she needs to get back to the beauty parlor!
ReplyDeleteAnon 7:11,
ReplyDeleteWhat little I have learned about Gaspar so far isn't enough to earn my vote.
However, petty comments on her appearance or grooming habits say nothing about her suitability for office; yet such comments speak volumes about you.
She's a mom of 3 babies and toddlers, plus a trophy wife. she has no ability or business running for council. She is being pushed to be a puppet for special interests. Sports Leaugeas, employee unions, and developers. She's just a RINO and younger version of Dalager, and another puppet for Stocks.
ReplyDeleteWe have received a number of robocalls for the Gaspar campaign, and we can't figure out how they got our unlisted number, except that my wife was a one-time patient of Gaspar Physical Therapy a few years back. I'd like to know how how many others who've received calls have also been patients of Gaspar Physical Therapy, and conversely, how many who've received calls have not been patients
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if the expansion of Scripps with it's potential for increased out-patient referrals for physical therapy, and the outfitting of the Hall property with multiple soccer fields for kids who will inevitably incur sports injuries add up to an attractive business opportunity for Gaspar Physical Therapy.
ReplyDeleteA clever campaign to unseat Dalager would be a pro-park campaign. Dalager has had ample time to get this thing done. It's his recalcitrance to the community, inability to compromise and fiscal mismanagement that has led to the failure of it yet being built. 90% of those living East of I-5 will vote "pro-park," whatever that means.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing not a lot of folk here on Facebook. But in case you, you can "Like" Teresa Barth's page and put it on your wall.

she doesn't have a position on the issues because she doesn't even bother to find out what the issues are. she is a one-issue candidate, build the sports complex or die
ReplyDeleteI think she's a ZERO issue candidate who has been trained for pushing the sports complex with 90 ft (and not an inch less) lights. Dalagar was trained too. I think Jim Bond was his original trainer, not Stocks. Same thing, though.
ReplyDeleteUr right Anna. What's with the 7th grader mentality here anyway? No, I take it back. 7th graders belittle their peers without annonimity. Grow up, 7:11. There's nothing wrong with wanting to spend less time with your kids. And anyone who hates kids can't be all bad (W.C. Fields). Besides, more sports parks mean kids will be goofing off at home less. My child would have been student of the month at Earl Warren Jr. High, but I aborted the little bastard.
ReplyDeleteMy experience with two injuries requiring PT in the past year doesn't support the notion that Gaspar's PT services have any relation to PT for children's sports injuries. My grade school son, who had an Achilles tendon injury due to sports, was referred by our Scripps Encinitas doctor to a Scripps PT facility across the road from the Scripps Encinitas hospital.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, my elbow tendonitis (not sports related) was treated very well at a Gaspar facility.
For the time being, I plan to keep the Gaspar PT issues separate from the election and city issues.
Is it possible that she is using Encintis as a stepping stone to higher political aspirations?
ReplyDeleteHas anyone ever noticed that you never see Kristy Guerin and Kristin Gaspar in the same place at the same time?
ReplyDeleteIn total fairness, I would rather see her present herself as a council candidate perhaps in the future.
ReplyDeleteThis woman has 3 children, manages a business with 40 employees, non-profit responsibilities, Rotary affiliation, etc. I really don't believe she has time to properly serve as a councilperson.
I personally know Teresa and Maggie, and have a fair knowledge of the other council members and the time they devote to serving our community.
In honesty, I would rather see Ms. Gaspar be a great mom first. Come back when that is complete and try to serve when you can give it your all.
We need leaders desperately who will serve us first and foremost. As her background and education is in journalism I have no doubt she would love to sit on the diaz, just not now.
Kristy Guerin/Kristin Gaspar. I thought they were a mother/daughter combo.
ReplyDeleteLeft Coast,
ReplyDeleteGotta agree with you.
Gaspar claims in her bio to put service to others above self. Where do her 3 children under the age of 6 including an infant she is nursing rank? When asked to respond to building height limitations of 34 feet in encinitas projects, she said she would have consider each case individually. She has been far more evasive than the other candidates and shouldn't be trusted. Follow the most monied interests in Encinitas and she's hitched to their wagon.
ReplyDeleteKristin Gaspar claims "the best is yet to be " but she does not outline what she would do specifically to change our city for the better and is already poised to violate the general plan with her support for the 39 90 foot lights that would illuminate the park. She is utterly cluless about the community character buzz phrase she tosses around. A vote for her would continue developers business as usual control over this council.
ReplyDeleteDon't think Gaspar is the best candidate, but I have to disagree with those who marginalize her abilities because she has three children. Nobody bashes men with children who run for office. Give it a break.
ReplyDeleteIf her husband is willing and able to step in as Mr. Mom to support his wife as she dashes off to countless meetings that enhance both of their political and financial power in the community, he may find all that work worth it. Otherwise they can dial up another gal on the political landscape who is extremely saavy at getting a lot of bang for her buck from household help that apparently don't ask for full compensation.
ReplyDeleteBonddi- Men aren't mothers. if you think a full time working Father of PT business, and a full time working mom running a PT business, trying to being a trophy wife and socialite, running for City Council (which should take at least 20 hours a week) would not have an impact on young children; then you have bad judgment in my opinion. that family's time should be spent on raising good adults. Not Local politics. Its purely selfish.
ReplyDeleteAny women handing over a motherly responsibilities to another so she can run for City Council is a loser in my opinion. It shows she ego over the well being of her young kids.
I agree with Left coast, she should wait 10 years, until they are all out of that early kid hood phase. The early years is when kids need their parents most.
Why the stupid google check in?
ReplyDeleteWhat a waste of time.
Didn't you already figure out, people will still post anon?
What is the advantage to having people signing in through google?
Hyjacker loser. Why can't you post with your own tag or handle? Anon slandering is lame. Don't go and talk about free speech. Free speech has a cost. It's called accountability. We are all accountable for our own words and actions. LL
ReplyDeleteLoser. why are you such a cry baby loser? There are many people nameded John. You don't hear them crying like a little girl everytime some other John writes something. Get over yourself. Whats the big deal. I don't throw a tissy fit everytime you use my anonymous handle now do I. This was my handle first Loser.LL.
ReplyDeleteAccording to a contributions breakdown by the Encinitas Taxpayers Association, a whopping 84% of Kristin Gaspar's local contributions come from developers. Just what we don't need is another council member beholden to development interests who excludes proponents of thoughtfully planned community from the political process. Reclaim our city from the tyranny of our development run council! Vote for Barth and Kranz!
