Just Peachy doesn't have organic produce. Not sure about the stand on Saxony, but last time I was there it just seemed to have the same commercial produce as the supermarkets. Buy local and buy organic at the Farmer's Market or join a CSA.
Yeah, buy local. Many farms stands don't sell local products.
Join a CSA. There are quite a few very good ones that serve this area. www.localharvest.org and enter 92024 for options.
We are blessed with a year-round growing season in SD county for a wide variety of products, but our agricultural businesses need our support or else they will become sub-developments or strip malls.
Spend food dollars on food produced in SD county, so more of your dollars stay in the county. Support local farm-to-table restaurants with similar ideals instead of chains serving industrial processed cr*p. SD County has the best avocados - why buy Chilean and Mexican avos? Savor the season.
Fresh is good! Love their selection of veggies. LL
ReplyDeletei can't tell where this is located - can you list the cross streets?
ReplyDeleteIt's the one at the corner of La Costa Ave. and Saxony.
ReplyDeleteJust Peachy is a better value.
ReplyDeleteJust peachy is the place!

ReplyDeleteJust Peachy is *awesome* -- a true Leucadia gem & a great compliment to the farmer's market. That place on Saxony is way overpriced.
